Job Description

Role: Integration Specialist - Policing - NPPV3 cleared

Location: Hybrid (Southwest / Midlands and Home)

Rate: £500 - 550 per day (IR35 outside)

Duration: 6 - 12 months (start June/July 2025)

Key skills: Integration / interface building to police systems / databases. Windows, IIS, .Net Framework, MS SQL Server, Middleware integration, Web API, XML, XSLT, JSON, Powershell. Write LLD's regards configuration. NPPV3 cleared, (or expired).

Urgent role - we are hiring on behalf of one of our UK Police Force customers.

Role: To lead on building interfaces between key Police systems, (such as Niche RMS, Livescan / PNC / PROMAPS etc).

  • Leading the development and implementation of interfaces, integrations & extracts, using cloud and on-premise tools
  • Implement robust, scalable, and secure integration solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to system integrations and data flow
  • Ensure that all integrations are highly available, fault-tolerant, and performing as expected
  • Create low-level technical documentation for all integrations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, software developers, database administrators, business analysts, and external vendors, to understand integration requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate integration approaches to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for integration-related issues and provide knowledge transfer to other staff
  • Ensure that all interfaces and integrations adhere to security best practices and regulatory requirements

Person profile:

Essential skills:

  • Recent Policing sector experience, building interfaces to police systems
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, .NET Framework, IIS, MS SQL server
  • Experience in middleware integration, and use of Web API
  • Good understanding of components of MS Windows-based applications
  • Knowledge of basics of computer networking and databases
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLT, JSON, PowerShell
  • Ability to write low-level documentation, LLDs and configuration guides
  • Ability to work towards set deliverables with little supervision

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience with Niche RMS
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services

You must currently hold NPPV3 police clearance for this role OR have held it previously and still be eligible to pass NPPV3 vetting
