Job Description
Insurance Claims Building Surveyor

Location: UK-wide (travel required)

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a varied portfolio of insurance claims across all general perils. You'll combine technical expertise with project management and stakeholder engagement, working on complex reinstatement projects and high-value property cases. A key part of the role will be preparing detailed Scopes of Work and acting as Contract Administrator to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site investigations with stakeholders and contractors
  • Draw up Scopes of Work (SOW) and schedules of works
  • Act as Contract Administrator, managing contracts and ensuring compliance throughout reinstatement projects
  • Project manage reinstatement works from start to completion
  • Handle claims across fire, flood, escape of water, impact, and other perils
  • Deliver professional Building Surveying services alongside claims work
  • Work on a wide range of properties, including high-net-worth and major loss cases
Candidate Profile
  • Background in Building Surveying principles
  • Insurance claims experience across general perils
  • Strong communication skills (face-to-face, verbal, and written)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Independent, proactive, and collaborative
  • High technical competence with excellent report writing and scope preparation skills
  • CIOB and/or RICS qualified (Chartered status desirable)
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel
