Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent


Pay: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)


Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Northampton. The role is part of a successful and collaborative Mathematics department committed to delivering high quality teaching and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.


Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for candidates with relevant experience.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well structured lessons that develop students' mathematical reasoning, problem solving skills, and confidence.

  • Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of learners of all abilities.

  • Monitor student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and implement strategies to raise attainment.

  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations and support them in achieving excellent outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work, share resources, and contribute to curriculum development.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and excellent behaviour.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through intervention sessions, enrichment opportunities, and extracurricular activities.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Qualified Mathematics Teacher holding QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Confident teaching Mathematics across the secondary curriculum.

  • Passionate about inspiring students and making mathematical concepts engaging and accessible.

  • Committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.

  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a comprehensive induction and mentoring programme available.
