Ingres Database Developer

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ingres Database Developer to support a public sector organization in maintaining and enhancing its Legacy database systems. This role is fully remote and ideal for a contractor with deep expertise in Ingres DB administration and development, who thrives in structured environments and understands the nuances of public sector operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Ingres database environments (production and test)
- Perform database tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation, backup, and recovery
- Support data migration and upgrade projects
- Collaborate with DevOps teams using tools like Azure DevOps or SSCM
- Provide DBA support for releases and change management
- Document standard operating procedures and maintain system documentation
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams
- Ensure compliance with public sector security and data governance standards
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 + years of experience with Ingres DB development and administration
- Strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and performance tuning
- Experience in Scripting and scheduling jobs
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Prior experience in public sector or regulated environments preferred
- Availability for occasional out-of-hours support if required

- Active SC clearance or eligibility for clearance may be advantageous
