Job Description

Infrastructure Cabling and Connectivity Designer -

London

£55,000

Working closely with our Sales, Commercial, and Operational team, the role provides project support throughout the life cycle - from delivering innovative design solutions and accurate project cost estimates for structured cabling and connectivity infrastructure within some of the world's most complex data centre and mission-critical infrastructure environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare client quotations through a process of surveying, design interpretation and estimation.
  • work directly with sales, operations and commercial teams, ensuring all elements of the client brief is captured within the project costing
  • Ensure that SOW quotations are completed and issued to required timescales and issued in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
  • Produce accurate information that can be conveyed to the operations team in the form of Pre Contract Reviews in accordance with company procedures.
  • Adopt a proactive approach with line management and sales to continually look to provide support and technical guidance on opportunities.
  • Support sales teams during engagements with clients, main contractors, consultants and in-house teams.
  • Producing detailed plans, cabinet/frame layouts, cable density drawings and schematics to enable implementation of cabling projects
  • Co-ordination of project drawings from information stage through to construction stage, working closely with other trades in a site environment

Key skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of data centre and critical infrastructure environments and projects - including industry standards, design principles, and construction methodologies.
  • Proven experience in the design and time/cost estimation of structured cabling, telecoms infrastructure, and ICT solutions.
  • Ability to produce accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and budget forecasts that align with commercial and project objectives.
  • Commercially astute, with a good understanding of contractual frameworks, risk management, variation control, and project profitability.
  • Relevant industry experience and qualifications such as RCDD, CNIDP, CDCP, or manufacturer-accredited training would be advantageous, but are not essential.
