Job Description

Infrastructure Architect- Poole - 6 month contract

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join a 6-month contract engagement based on site in Poole, with occasional travel to Plymouth. The successful candidate will lead the design and secure transformation of the organisation's infrastructure. This will include restructuring data centres, managing the end-of-life transition of Legacy solutions, enhancing overall resilience and robustness, strengthening business continuity capabilities, and driving network and multi-site integration.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design the target architecture for OnPrem infrastructures and both data centers.
  • Drivers the abandonment of a data center and the rationalization of the 2x2 model.
  • Prepare for the release of end-of-life solutions, including DELL Vplex, and propose arealistic trajectory.
  • Bring your expertise to the table on multi-hypervisor virtualized environments, including VMware.
  • Ensure a robust storage architecture: Fibre Channel, iSCSI, PRA, BDD management.
  • Coordinates impacts related to DC moves and critical migrations.
  • Design network architectures related to global transformation.
  • Evaluate technical and budgetary options, build scenarios and argue choices.
  • Support teams with a clear change management speech.
  • Work with DBAs around SQL Server and PostgreSQL foundations.
