Our client
Our client is a fast-growing, private equity-backed multinational enterprise, formed through the merger of several country-specific entities. With its global headquarters located in the greater Amsterdam area, the organization is undergoing a major IT transformation to unify and optimize its technology infrastructure across multiple international sites.
The role
We are looking to recruit a strategic and technically hands-on IT Manager who brings extensive experience in leading large international IT teams and designing enterprise-grade cloud architectures, particularly on Microsoft Azure. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a technical lead and a cloud architect, requiring deep technical knowledge, cross-cultural leadership skills, and transformation experience within a corporate enterprise.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-border IT teams across multiple regions, fostering collaboration and operational excellence;
- Act as the lead architect for the organization's global Azure cloud infrastructure;
- Define and execute a centralized cloud strategy, including governance, security, compliance, and cost control frameworks;
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments to support global business functions;
- Drive the implementation of cloud-native and hybrid-cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business goals;
- Serve as a mentor and technical guide to internal teams and external partners, providing direction and clarity on cloud engineering initiatives;
- Engage with C-level stakeholders and country IT leads to understand local requirements and deliver harmonized global solutions;
- Ensure successful execution of post-merger IT integration and system transformation programs.
Your profile
- Over ten years of IT leadership experience, including managing large teams across international locations;
- Proven success in designing and leading the implementation of Microsoft Azure-based architectures in large-scale, multinational environments;
- Solid experience with transformation programs following mergers or acquisitions.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native services, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep), and Azure DevOps practices;
- Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Kubernetes), and enterprise networking.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR);
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface across both technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as PE;
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate as a freelance consultant with your own registered Dutch legal entity (Eenmanszaak).
