Industrial Automation Solution Architect

Our client, well-know international seeds producer, is looking for an Industrial Automation Solution Engineer to join their team.

The department of Industrial Automation (IA) is responsible for Operational Technology in the domains: Processing Automation, Farm Automation, Building Automation, Lab Automation and Greenhouse Automation. The department has a global responsibility in the field of Service Management, Automation Security, Business Support and Project Support.

The Medior IA Solution Architect is accountable for:

1) IA Solution Design for Changes and Projects:

• Managing the end-to-end Solution Design process covering authoring Solution Designs, executing Assessments (Security, Data Privacy etc.), contribute to Business Cases and getting Architecture Board Approval.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the technical requirements and objectives of automation projects. Including supporting the business in defining user requirements.
• Oversee the implementation of automation projects, providing guidance and support to development teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to industrial automation systems, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to implement effective solutions.

2) IA Asset & Configuration Management:

• Create detailed technical specifications, including system designs, diagrams, and documentation.
• Documenting IA related data & information and storing these in the respective Information Systems and Portals.
• Maintaining IA Information Systems and Portals.
• Maturing management of IA related data & information including the documentation process.

3) Automation Security:

• Certified company's Officer for Automation Security (OAS).
• Executing High Level Risk Assessments (HLRA) on Automation Security at Global Sites.
• Resolving Security findings and issues in cooperation with the Expert teams.
• Assessing Business requests for new IA/(I)IoT equipment on IA & Automation Security requirements.
• Guiding/supporting IT on Automation Security topics (Applications, Network).
• Making requirements applicable and fit for use for APV (including documenting).

4) Contributing to improving and maturing the organization, leading to business performance improvement by:

• Coaching Junior and IT Solution Architects in Industrial Automation and Automation Security.
• Collaborating with IT on IT/OT Convergence.
• Standardizing, Digitalizing, Automating and documenting.
• Contributing to the IA Strategy.
• Driving the IA Center of Excellence.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, in the field of industrial automation.
• Problem-solving abilities: strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and cybersecurity practices.
• Project Management: experience in managing automation projects.
• Continuous Learning: commitment to staying updated with industry trends.

Required IT skills:

• Networking: knowledge of networking protocols and communication interfaces used in industrial automation systems, such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP.
• Cybersecurity: knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools to protect industrial automation systems from cyber threats.
• Experience with ITIL and ArchiMate.
