Legal Counsel (2-4 PQE) - In-House Opportunity Financial Services Manchester or Chester (Hybrid)

A high-growth, forward-thinking financial services business is seeking a talented Legal Counsel (2-4 PQE) to join its dynamic in-house legal team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to move in-house (or build on existing in-house experience) within a fast-paced and collaborative environment where no two days are the same.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting a wide range of legal and strategic matters. The role offers broad exposure across commercial law, with opportunities to get involved in regulatory, corporate, competition, and intellectual property matters.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts with suppliers and customers
• Providing pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice to senior stakeholders across the business
• Supporting key strategic projects, including new product development and commercial initiatives
• Advising on regulatory and compliance matters within a financial services environment
• Contributing to policy development, legal training, and knowledge sharing across the business
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver commercially aligned legal support

About You

• UK-qualified solicitor with 2-4 years' PQE
• Strong grounding in English contract law with hands on drafting and negotiation experience
• Commercially astute with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
• Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders and explain complex issues clearly
• Self starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Interest in financial services and willingness to broaden legal expertise
