About the RoleIndoBevs is currently seeking a qualified and experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team. The ideal candidate should have prior in-house legal experience-preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector-and be proficient in drafting and negotiating contracts. Familiarity with legal compliance tools is also essential.
This position demands a solid grounding in corporate and commercial law, excellent contract lifecycle management capabilities, and a proactive attitude towards compliance and regulatory oversight. The candidate must also exhibit strong analytical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various internal teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial contracts, including vendor, service, distribution, NDA, MOU, consultancy, and licensing agreements
Ensure contractual compliance with relevant laws, company policies, and risk frameworks
Manage contract lifecycle processes, including version control and maintaining contract repositories
Conduct due diligence for M&A, joint ventures, partnerships, and vendor assessments
Identify legal and compliance risks, offering practical guidance to leadership
Support legal investigations, audits, and internal reviews
Develop and manage legal templates and standard documentation
Organize and archive legal documents and correspondence systematically
Draft internal legal opinions, notices, and official communications
Implement and oversee regulatory compliance procedures across the company
Utilize compliance software to monitor obligations, deadlines, and filings
Deliver compliance training to internal teams and update them on legal changes
Advise on governance matters, including board and shareholder resolutions
Interface with regulatory authorities for licensing, registrations, and filings
Handle legal disputes, manage notices, and coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary
LLB from a recognized institution
2 to 4 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate legal setting, ideally in the manufacturing or FMCG space
Proven ability to independently draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements
Experience with compliance software (e.g., Legatrix, LexComply, ComplyGlobal) and CLM tools
Strong understanding of Indian corporate, commercial, and contract law
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and Excel, and familiar with document collaboration tools
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate legal language for non-legal teams
