Our client is a specialist within the electric vehicle sector, providing advanced diagnostics and repair solutions for EV and hybrid vehicle battery systems. They work closely with automotive partners, bodyshops, fleets and insurance providers across the UK, delivering sustainable and cost-effective alternatives to full battery replacement.
Due to continued growth and increasing demand within the EV market, our client is looking to expand their existing technical team and recruit an experienced IMI Level 4 EV Battery Diagnostic & Repair Technician to join their facility in West Sussex.
The RoleThis is a hands on technical role focused on diagnosing and repairing faults within electric vehicle battery systems and high voltage components. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying battery issues, carrying out detailed diagnostics and performing repairs to restore EV battery performance.
The role would suit a technician who is highly competent in EV battery fault diagnosis and repair, with a strong understanding of high voltage systems and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose faults within electric vehicle battery systems and high voltage components
- Carry out detailed fault finding and root cause analysis on EV battery issues
- Perform repairs and refurbishment of EV battery systems and related components
- Use specialist diagnostic tools and testing equipment to assess battery condition and performance.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with high voltage safety standards and industry regulations
- Work closely with the technical team to deliver efficient and sustainable repair solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs and testing carried out
- IMI Level 4 qualification in Electric / Hybrid Vehicle Systems
- Proven experience diagnosing EV battery faults and carrying out repairs
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills within automotive electrical systems
- Solid understanding of high voltage vehicle systems and safety procedures
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a technical team
- Experience working within an EV specialist repair environment
- Familiarity with advanced EV diagnostic equipment and battery testing tools
- Experience supporting technical development or innovative repair solutions
- Competitive salary £35,000 - £50,000 DOE
