ICT Application Engineer - MES Siemens Opcenter (m/f/d)
Swiss Mittelland, German-speaking Switzerland | 80-100% | 10-20% international travel
You know Siemens Opcenter inside out. You enjoy shaping how a production floor runs as much as you enjoy writing the customizing behind it. And you're looking for a role where your work directly affects products that improve patients' lives.
Our client is an established Swiss medical device manufacturer with production sites in Europe, North America and Asia. They want to strengthen their MES team with an experienced Opcenter engineer. You'll be the person who connects production, business teams and technology. In a GMP-regulated environment, you'll design and run harmonised, multi-site solutions.
Your profile
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience supporting and evolving Siemens Opcenter, including customizing. If much of that experience was on Camstar or SIMATIC IT, it counts too, and we'd love to hear from you.
- Experience with labeling solutions, ideally NiceLabel, is a strong plus.
- A degree or vocational qualification in IT, such as a Swiss Federal VET Diploma (CFC/EFZ), a university of applied sciences degree, or a university degree in computer science, business informatics or a related field.
- Familiarity with GMP environments and computerised system validation is a real advantage.
- Fluent German (C1 minimum) and good English (B2 minimum). German is the working language, while English is used with the international sites.
- A communicative, team-oriented person who enjoys working across departments and building shared solutions, not just closing tickets.
- Openness to travel 10-20% of the time to the international production sites.
Your missions
Shaping production processes
- Optimise and evolve manufacturing execution processes together with the business teams.
- Define and specify future cross-site requirements for the Opcenter landscape, so that the sites work in a harmonised way.
Owning the application
- Take responsibility for system settings and outputs in line with strategic guidelines. This covers customizing, reports, programming, release upgrades, testing and system documentation.
- Manage the MES interfaces and the technical labeling process, a key element of traceability in medical devices.
- Test and validate new processes in line with GMP requirements.
Supporting users and steering partners
- Act as the go-to expert for business teams and key users worldwide on application questions.
- Handle incidents, problems and changes, and coordinate the external consultants and developers working on the application.
Driving projects internationally
- Lead sub-projects and contribute to international projects across the group's sites.
Why this role is worth a look
- A role with real ownership. You don't just maintain the MES, you help shape its future across several countries.
- Purposeful work. The products made on these lines help people with chronic conditions live better.
- A strong learning environment. You'll gain international exposure and the experience of a demanding regulated industry, alongside motivated, cross-functional teams.
