Location: Coventry, UK

This role is responsible developing our system engineering capabilities in HV Power supply system, includes Battery system and Charging system. The individual is responsible for building and owning the generic system artifacts (Model Based System Engineering models, LAD, Functional Failure Analysis, FSRD etc) for relevant use cases, linking FFA outputs to commodity FMEA, providing target generation and issue resolution at key interfaces related to High Voltage Power Supply system functions for OEM Powerpacks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the businesses system engineering and knowledge in HV Power Supply System & Charging system.
  • Support indirect team members understanding of the function with your expert knowledge.
  • Develop and govern requirements capture, MBSE model build, requirements cascade, FFA, standards & DVP for OEM Powerpacks.
  • Chair technical reviews and resolve complex cross functional issues with involvement of Battery, Charging, HV integration, EDU and Powerpack team.
  • Conduct the design analysis and development with utmost quality within agile framework.
  • To support the design, development workstreams within the scope of the engineering development projects.
Key Performance Indicators
  • System artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA, DVP) developed off-cycle and updated on-cycle as required relevant to HV Power supply system Charging System.
  • New High Voltage functions delivered by SOC process.
  • Robust requirements and function & system targets delivered on-cycle to programmes.
  • System compatibility Issues identified, reported and efficiently resolved.
  • Influence selection of electrical architecture to ensure Powerpack attribute delivery.
  • Ensure functions adherence to the use of specified engineering methods, computer tools and aids applied.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
  • Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector.
  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline or in associated subjects such as electronics, electrical engineering or other technical qualifications.
  • Relevant experience of working in Powertrain Engineering in HV Power Supply Systems (Battery, Charging, BMCM, BMS preferred).
  • Working experience specifying and designing low voltage, high voltage and control hardware, including a understanding of typical characteristics and protective systems required.
  • Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
  • Experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach.
  • A knowledge of typical BEV, MHEV and PHEV system solutions and technologies.
  • Full driving license.
  • Presentation and Communication skills.
Education
  • Degree or equivalent education in Automotive/mechanical Engineering or relevant disciplines.
