CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract, Full-time (6 months)
DEPARTMENT: Chief Operating Group, Employee relations
LOCATION: Flexible - Any UK BBC office with hybrid working
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £42,500 - £52,500 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEIn this role, you will work with internal stakeholders to implement policy changes relating to upcoming employment law changes. You will also help audit existing HR policies and procedures to identify inefficiencies or compliance risks. This will be a key role in recommending and implementing improvements that enhance the people experience and operational effectiveness of the BBC. Additionally you will help create a framework to monitor and analyse policy effectiveness following the launch of a new policy framework.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
The Employee Relations and Policy team play a key role in developing and maintaining HR Policy, and help manage the trade union relationship at the BBC.
This is an opportunity to work within a specialist central team which helps design, negotiate and implement key policies and guidance, ensuring they align with the BBC's overall objectives, strategy and values.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Provide support around policy, industrial and employee relations to the wider HR teams
- Leading on specific projects to deliver effective solutions that meet the needs of the business
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Provide support to key BBC governance meetings including with the Trade Unions at National Joint Council (NJC) and HR Community through HR Policy forum and Knowledge sharing forum with the HR service centre.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Good understanding of UK employment law
- Experience working in a HR generalist or relevant specialist capacity
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with the ability to assess risks
