HR Manager

Local Authority Hybrid Interim

Venn Group are currently recruiting for an Interim HR Manager to join a local authority on an interim basis.

The Council is looking for an experienced, hands-on HR generalist who can provide immediate support across the full range of HR activity. The successful candidate will primarily focus on maintaining BAU HR provision, while also supporting some elements of the Council's significant Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programme.

• Lead and support a broad range of generalist HR activity across the Council.
• Provide effective HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
• Work closely with the existing HR Manager and wider HR team to ensure continuity of service.
• Support the Council through its ongoing LGR programme where required.
• Operate as part of the wider management team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.
• Provide confident, pragmatic HR support and be able to hit the ground running.

You will join an established HR function comprising:

• 2 x HR Managers
• 3 x full-time HR Advisors
• 4 x part-time HR Administrators

The Council employs approximately 340 staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience working in a generalist HR Manager capacity.
• The ability to work independently and provide immediate support in a busy environment.
• Excellent knowledge across the full HR lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Local government experience is highly desirable.
• Experience of working within, or supporting, an LGR programme would be advantageous.

• Hybrid working, with an expectation of approximately 2 days per week onsite in line with the Council's current 40% office-based policy.
• Some flexibility may be required depending on workload.
