About the Successful Applicant

You will have significant HR generalist experience in a Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics environment (or something similar). You will have strong knowledge of UK employment law. CIPD qualification and a degree (or equivalent) are required. You will be highly organised, compassionate, resilient, an effective communicator, and confident influencing at all levels. A proactive and empathetic approach is essential, alongside the ability to manage complex HR issues and support organisational change.

About the Job

This is a pivotal HR leadership role, partnering with managers across the business to deliver a comprehensive people service. You will play a key role in shaping HR practices, advising on recruitment, reward, L&D, supporting employee relations, and driving initiatives that enhance culture, performance, and engagement. You will report into the HR Director and line manage an HR Advisor.

Duties will include:
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to managers on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations and performance management
  • Leading recruitment activity, from strategy through to onboarding, ensuring effective processes and strong agency relationships
  • Coaching and developing line managers to strengthen hiring capability and people management skills
  • Managing and supporting an HR Advisor, overseeing workload and professional development
  • Handling employee relations cases such as disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters
  • Supporting organisational change projects, including restructures and TUPE transfers
  • Developing and updating HR policies in line with current legislation and best practice
  • Contributing to reward and benefits initiatives, including salary benchmarking and job evaluation
  • Delivering training and development programmes to enhance employee and manager capability
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture through wellbeing and engagement initiatives
