Are you an experienced Employee Relations (ER) professional with a passion for resolving complex people issues and influencing positive workplace culture? We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Lead Advisor to join a high-performing HR team and provide expert guidance on a wide range of ER matters.

This role will suit someone who thrives in a consultative environment, enjoys working closely with managers and trade unions, and can balance operational delivery with strategic HR input.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on complex casework across grievance, disciplinary, absence, and performance management matters - including dismissals and Employment Tribunal preparation.

  • Provide expert ER advice and guidance to managers and staff, ensuring a fair and consistent approach across all employee relations issues.

  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with managers, trade unions, and HR colleagues to proactively identify and resolve employee relations concerns.

  • Analyse management information to identify trends and recommend interventions to improve organisational effectiveness.

  • Deliver coaching, training, and awareness sessions to managers and HR colleagues on ER policies, procedures, and best practice.

  • Contribute to wider HR initiatives and projects - including organisational change, TUPE, CoSOP, and policy development.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, ensuring advice is compliant and forward looking.

  • Support ER and HR teams during periods of peak demand or when delivering key projects.

About You

Essential:

  • Extensive employee relations experience, including complex case management and a strong working knowledge of employment law.

  • Demonstrable project management experience.

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within or with public sector or civil service frameworks.

  • Previous experience of managing or coaching others.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with trade unions.

  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills.

Security Clearance Requirements
  • Applicants must be British citizens or hold dual nationality (one of which is British).

  • Candidates must have lived in the UK for at least two of the past five years, including one continuous 12 month period.

  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo additional clearance, which can take approximately 6 8 weeks.
