This vacancy is only available to employees of Cardiff Council including Cardiff Works and Agency Workers currently engaged with the Council. This is an exciting opportunity to be the Team Leader of the HR Operations - Schools & Corporate Education team, who provides high quality HR casework support to schools and education services across the Council, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring compliance with best practice and employment law. About the jobReporting to the Operational Manager, as the HR Casework Team Leader you will manage and guide a team of HR casework professionals to deliver a high quality HR Casework support function to Schools and Education Directorates. This includes providing expert advice on complex and sensitive casework to resolution. The team supports a wide range of employee relations matters and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with employment legislation, HR policies, and safeguarding requirements. You will also contribute to the delivery of wider HR projects and initiatives.
Working collaboratively with leaders, stakeholders and HR colleagues, you will help shape and implement HR plans and solutions aligned to organisational priorities. Building strong, constructive relationships with recognised trade unions and key stakeholders will be a key part of this role.
What We Are Looking For From YouWe are seeking an experienced HR professional who can lead a team, be capable of operating confidently both strategically and operationally in a large, complex organisation. You will have experience of working with senior managers and trade unions, along with sound knowledge of employment law, HR policies and procedures, and implementing best practice.
A confident communicator, you will be able to build effective professional relationships quickly and navigate complex issues with clarity, sound judgement and a solutions focused approach.
