Hays HR is pleased to be partnering with a successful and values-led multi-academy trust to recruit two HR Business Partners. One position is permanent, while the other is offered on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.

The organisation operates across multiple sites in Greater Manchester and the wider North West and is committed to delivering an excellent and consistent employee experience. Your new role

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will provide proactive, professional and hands-on HR support to headteachers and senior leaders across the organisation.Acting as a trusted advisor, you will manage complex employee relations matters, support organisational change and help leaders identify practical, forward-looking people solutions. You will also contribute to wider People Strategy initiatives, policy development and the continuous improvement of HR services.

The position is site-based and requires regular travel across the organisation's current and future locations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert advice and support on complex or high-risk employee relations cases
• Coaching and advising senior leaders on disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and capability matters
• Supporting organisational change, including restructures, redeployment, TUPE and the onboarding of new sites
• Advising on employment law, HR policy, terms and conditions and people-related risk
• Building effective relationships with senior stakeholders, trade unions and external partners
• Contributing to the review and development of legally compliant HR policies and procedures
• Using HR data and management information to provide insight and support decision-making
• Supporting the delivery of strategic People initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Promoting a fair, consistent and positive employee experience across all locations

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced HR generalist with a strong background in employee relations and business partnering. You will be comfortable advising senior stakeholders, managing complex casework and working across a multi-site organisation. You will also possess:

• CIPD Level 5 or an equivalent HR qualification
• At least three years' experience within a generalist HR role
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Demonstrable experience of advising on complex employee relations matters
• Experience contributing to HR projects or organisational change
• Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills
• The ability to analyse HR data and translate this into meaningful insight
• A high level of discretion, accuracy and professional judgement
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel

Experience within education, a unionised environment or another complex, highly regulated setting would be advantageous but is not essential. Knowledge of safeguarding requirements within education would also be beneficial.
