Lorien are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support a large, complex public sector organisation on an initial 3-month contract. Based primarily in Shotts, this role will provide strategic and operational HR support across multiple sites and senior leadership teams.
You will lead and develop an HR function, deliver professional HR advice on complex people matters, and support the implementation of organisational change programmes aligned to corporate and local objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, develop and manage an effective HR team, ensuring high-quality HR service delivery aligned to organisational objectives and operating within agreed budgetary frameworks.
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to senior leaders and management teams on a wide range of people management issues, including complex case management and attendance management.
- Manage workforce planning activities, ensuring recruitment practices comply with Civil Service Recruitment Principles and relevant employment legislation.
- Support HR teams and hiring managers with end-to-end recruitment activity, including the use of the organisation's recruitment system.
- Contribute to and support national recruitment campaigns as required.
- Play a key role in the delivery of change programmes, supporting leaders and employees through organisational change.
- Work collaboratively with trade union representatives and stakeholders to support effective employee relations.
Location and Travel
The primary base for this role is Shotts. There will be some travel to other organisational sites in locations including Kilmarnock and Dumfries, with occasional travel to central or training locations such as Edinburgh or Polmont, depending on business needs.
Skills and Experience- Proven experience operating at HR Business Partner level within a complex, unionised environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and complex case management.
- Experience of leading and developing HR teams.
- Demonstrable experience of workforce planning and recruitment governance.
- Ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and influence at all levels.
- Experience supporting and delivering organisational change.
