The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy and growing organisation. This is a varied and fast-paced generalist HR role with a significant focus on employee relations, supporting managers across multiple sites and functions.
The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR guidance while managing a large and varied ER caseload. This position would suit someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can confidently manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Lead and manage a high-volume ER caseload covering disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance management, capability, and conduct matters.
- Provide expert employment law and HR policy advice to managers and employees.
- Support managers through the full employee relations process, including investigations, hearings and appeals.
- Ensure all cases are managed consistently, fairly and in line with current legislation and best practice.
- Maintain accurate records and case documentation using HR case management systems.
- Balance coaching, influencing and challenging managers to achieve positive employee relations outcomes.
HR Business Support
- Partner with managers to build capability and confidence in people management practices.
- Deliver guidance on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Support organisational change initiatives including restructuring, redundancy consultations and TUPE projects.
- Deliver training and workshops on key HR topics such as absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Review and update HR policies, guidance documents and manager toolkits.
HR Operations & Projects
- Produce management information and HR metrics including absence, turnover and employee relations trends.
- Support continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
- Contribute to wider HR projects and organisational initiatives.
- Assist with HR administration and employee lifecycle activities where required.
About You
We are seeking an HR professional with a strong employee relations background who is comfortable handling a demanding and varied workload.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor position.
- Extensive employee relations experience, managing multiple cases simultaneously from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance issues.
- Confident influencing, coaching and challenging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and caseloads.
- Experience using HR systems and case management platforms.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
