Job Description
HR Advisor (FTC - 3 to 6 Months)

Location: Paddington, London (4 days per week onsite)

Travel: Required once a month/as required to Liverpool and West Drayton sites
Contract: Fixed-Term (3-6 months)
Reporting to: Senior HR Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a 3-6-month fixed term contract, primarily based in Paddington. This is a hands-on, operationally focused role with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations.

You will take ownership of a range of complex ER cases, managing them end-to-end while ensuring best practice, compliance, and a positive employee experience. In addition, you will play a key role in coaching and mentoring a HR Advisor based in Peterborough, supporting their development and capability in managing ER matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high volume of Employee Relations cases end-to-end, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, and workplace investigations
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on ER issues, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policy and employment law
  • Lead and support complex and sensitive cases, including investigations and hearings
  • Ensure all ER cases are handled in a fair, timely, and legally compliant manner
  • Coach and mentor a HR Advisor (Peterborough-based), developing their capability in ER case management and stakeholder engagement
  • Support line managers in building confidence and capability in handling people matters
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case records, producing reports and insights where required
  • Identify trends in ER activity and provide recommendations to mitigate risk and improve practices
  • Collaborate with wider HR teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality HR service
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in a HR Advisor or similar role within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Employee Relations expertise, with demonstrable experience managing complex cases independently
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or developing junior HR colleagues
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Professional, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
Working Pattern
  • 4 days per week onsite in Paddington (London), travel to Liverpool and West Drayton required (once a month/as required)
  • Occasional flexibility to support remote stakeholders, including the HR Advisor in Peterborough
