HR Advisor (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Kidderminster, Worcestershire (On-site)
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm, Friday 8am to 1pm
£29,800 to £43,00 DOE
We're working with an established and highly regarded manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor. This will be on an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with a particular focus on supporting and driving recruitment activity across the business. This position offers real variety, acting as a trusted first point of contact for managers and employees while playing a key role in attracting and securing high-quality talent to support ongoing business growth.
The RoleAs HR Advisor, you will provide professional, practical guidance across a wide range of HR activities, ensuring best practice and compliance at all times.
Responsibilities: HR Operations- Providing expert advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
- Managing employee documentation including contracts, benefits, and HR records
- Maintaining and updating the HRIS to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Supporting attendance management, including absence reviews
- Administering family-friendly policies (maternity, paternity, parental leave)
- Supporting end-to-end recruitment activity, including advertising, agency liaison, and interviewing
- Assisting with assessment centres and candidate selection
- Managing relationships with temporary labour suppliers to meet operational demandsPlaying a key role in ensuring a strong pipeline of talent aligned to business needs
- Supporting a range of employee relations matters
- Managing disciplinary and grievance processes up to final written warning
- Coaching managers to build capability and improve team performance
- Running HR "surgery" sessions to support employee queries
- Promoting a strong safety culture and supporting a zero-harm environment
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Supporting site-wide adherence to policies and regulatory requirements
- CIPD Level 3 (minimum)
- Proven experience in a HR Generalist/Advisor role
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience working in a unionised environment
- Ability to coach and influence managers effectively
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office and HR systems)
- CIPD Level 5 or working towards
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Experience within a larger or complex organisation
- Familiarity with HR systems such as Cascade
