Job Description
Overview

Housing Support and Solutions Caseworker. Permanent. Grade 3 - £26,409 - £32,654. Working 36.5 hours per week.

Homelessness services are a great place to work, where you can actually make a positive difference to people2s lives by providing early support and guidance to prevent homelessness. This role may involve co-locating with other agencies to ensure access to our service for as many people as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the Housing Solution & Support Case Worker Service on a day-to-day basis.
  • Interview and assess those who approach the City Council and are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Communicate effectively with people who may be stressed or anxious and remain calm to understand their issues, providing appropriate advice within a legal framework.
  • Record interactions accurately and in detail on the IT system that records all interventions on behalf of the customer to prevent homelessness.
  • Deliver expert housing advice and solutions, conduct thorough assessments and investigations, and make referrals to other local authorities and support agencies.
  • Deliver high-quality case management and make informed homelessness decisions within statutory guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Great communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidence in using systems and databases.
  • Knowledge of working within social housing and homelessness is helpful; training is provided for those with experience in another social or people-facing field.
