Timaruhas very few Registrars competing for clinical experience, allowing directone-to-one interactions with Consultants. You will get to participate fully in theatrecases assisting alongside the relevant Surgeon. The surgical runs also include several subspecialties(Pain, Ophthalmology, Dental and ENT).Thetraining environment supports a wide variety of specialities and there areweekly, protected teaching sessions and Hospital Grand Rounds, along withaccess to specific courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Plus, you will have the support of a dedicatedSenior Doctor. As a House Officer at Timaru Hospital, you will: Provide patient-centred care under Consultant supervision Participate in ward rounds, admissions, and discharges Assist in theatre and support procedural work Engage in multidisciplinary care Attend weekly educational sessions and simulation teaching Contribute to safe roster coverage and high-quality documentationYou will be a doctor who is: PGY2 or above (New Zealand or equivalent international level) Clinically competent, reliable, and eager to grow A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills A team player who thrives in supportive, collaborative environments Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to delivering excellent careAll applicants must be eligible for ProvisionalGeneral Scope of Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
