Hospitality Supervisor - Nuffield Health Guildford Sodexo

Fixed Term Contract: 18 months

Salary: £14.89 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: 5 days per week, shifts between 7:00am - 8:00pm

Role Overview

Reporting to the Business Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day front-of-house catering operation, leading a team of Ward Hosts to deliver an efficient, high-quality service to patients, visitors, and staff.

You'll be a visible presence across the hospital, ensuring smooth service delivery, maintaining standards, and supporting both ward and kitchen teams to deliver an outstanding hospitality experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the ward hospitality team, ensuring excellent service delivery
  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of front of house operations
  • Be visible across wards, supporting patients and staff and resolving any service issues
  • Ensure all company policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently met
  • Work closely with kitchen teams to ensure timely service and minimise waste
  • Manage staff rotas, including planning cover for holidays and sickness
  • Maintain stock control and ensure correct rotation procedures are followed
  • Ensure all food meets required standards of quality and presentation
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation and audit records
  • Train, support, and develop team members
  • Lead or attend team and client meetings as requiredSupport ward service delivery where needed
  • Report maintenance or operational issues promptly to management
  • Carry out all reasonable requests in line with business needs

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A customer focused mindset with a passion for service excellence
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and service standards
  • Ability to work in a fast paced healthcare environment
Desirable
  • Experience working within healthcare or hospital environments
  • Food Hygiene certification
  • Experience with rota planning and stock control
