Job Description
Do you have a passion for teaching and a background in horticulture or gardening? Are you interested in a role that brings these passions together? We have a unique and exciting opportunity at a school, to use your creativity in the role of Horticulture Tutor, teaching skills to children and adults diagnosed with autism.
- Vocational experience in horticulture and/or gardening role, with strong plant knowledge and identification skills
- Proven experience in a teaching/teaching assistant role or equivalent
- Knowledge and an understanding of working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities would be an advantage
- Passion for helping others learn and develop skills
- Sound literacy, numeracy and IT skills
- Effective planning, organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant knowledge of health and safety considerations and risk assessments
- A team player with good problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes
- A driving licence and access to a vehicle or lift would be advised due to our remote location of our setting
