Job Description
Overview

This role: Home Ownership Specialist - 12 Month Fixed Contract covering maternity leave

Location: Farringdon, EC1N 8JS - Hybrid Working is available for the post.

Salary: £29,828 based on a 30hr working week

Responsibilities

This role will be challenging at points as you will be required to liaise with front line customers as well attend hearings and resident's meetings or ensuring that all the tasks are carried out in line with policies and legislation. You will engage in series of tasks including compliance with MTVH policies and processes, promotion of corporate values - Care, Dare and Collaborate, and providing advice on home ownership matters. You will liaise with various teams to cover for colleagues as required and support effective work processes.

What you will need to succeed (see qualifications)

  • Explain complex information to a variety of audiences and provide best practice and legislation advice on home ownership matters, including supporting documentation for formal challenges and cross-team collaboration.
  • Strong attention to detail; interpret leases; working knowledge of legal processes such as lease extensions, solicitor enquiries during conveyancing, and varying leases.
  • Deal with processes including re-mortgaging, leaseholder permissions, Right to Buy, Section 20 consultations; respond to observations and produce final accounts. Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Right to Buy under the Housing Act 1980 (Amended 1985), Housing (Right to Acquire) Regulations 1997, and the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 is beneficial. Proficiency in IT systems and MS Office to manage processes effectively.
Training information

We aim to provide cross-training to each employee in this role, and they may temporarily work with different teams. This may occur to maintain effective work processes during sickness, maternity/paternity leave, or similar events. All teams are customer-focused and liaise externally and internally.
