Pay Rate: £130-£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification: QTS required
Experience: Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school
Overview:Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated History Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled History educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially History KS5. Derby schools emphasize inquiry-driven Humanities education and rich historical context.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver the KS3 & KS4 History curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
- Plan, prepare, and assess History lessons in line with department policy
- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions for source analysis and essay skills
- Contribute to History department improvement planning
- Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching History experience in a UK secondary setting
- Is passionate about History education and student achievement
- Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
- Day-to-day supply Long-term assignments Permanent positions
- Full-time (5 days per week) Part-time (1 day or more per week)
