About the role

As a History Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop historical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and an understanding of the world around them.

You will have the opportunity to work within a variety of supportive secondary schools, delivering high-quality lessons while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, progress, and achievement.

This role is ideal for experienced History Teachers and Early Career Teachers looking to gain experience across different school settings or secure a long-term position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable but not essential)
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support students of varying abilities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and school leaders
  • Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times

You will work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Telford, including academies, community schools, and multi-academy trusts.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching History within UK secondary schools
  • Be confident teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people
  • Have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
