Location: King's Lynn, Norfolk

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term

Salary: £150 - £260 per day (dependent on experience)

Randstad Education is currently seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in King's Lynn. Whether you are an experienced History Teacher looking for a fresh challenge in Norfolk or an ambitious Early Career History Teacher aiming to establish strong roots, this position provides a brilliant platform to share your humanities expertise.

You will become part of a welcoming, collaborative department that values creative teaching methods, shared planning, and helping every pupil understand the stories that shaped our world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: As an impactful History Teacher, you will plan and deliver stimulating humanities sessions across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), exploring diverse eras, source analysis, and historical interpretations.

  • Full Curriculum Ownership: Take full responsibility for lesson preparation, essay marking, ongoing pupil assessment, and GCSE exam preparation.

  • Develop Critical Thinking: Guide students through evaluating historical evidence, forming structured arguments, and building strong essay-writing skills.

  • Support All Ability Levels: Differentiate instruction effectively to stretch high achievers while providing structured support for pupils developing core literacy and analytical skills.

  • Departmental Support: Work alongside humanities colleagues to refine schemes of work, share resources, and support extra-curricular history clubs or educational trips.

Candidate Profile

We are searching for an articulate, creative History Teacher with strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom leadership.

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.

  • Proven track record of working as a History Teacher within a UK secondary school setting.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to engage pupils of all abilities.

  • Effective classroom management strategies grounded in positive encouragement and high expectations.

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad).
