Highways Quantity Surveyor

Bedfordshire

£425 - £500 per day

3-month initial contract

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor currently looking for a new challenge?

An opportunity has arisen for a Highways QS to join a client in Bedfordshire.

This is a full-time contract offered on an on-going basis, initially for 3 months. This role will offer hybrid working, and a rate of £425 - £500 per day, inside IR35.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Reporting to the Managing QS in delivery of all commercial aspects relating to highway maintenance works
  • Cost capture for supply chain & self-delivered works
  • Working with the Managing Quantity Surveyor to prepare clear and accurate forecasts
  • Preparing early warning notices and CE quotations
  • Submitting of Claims and applications to the client and ensuring payment is received
  • Agreement of final accounts within 3 months of work completion
  • Risk & opportunity management
  • Monthly cost and value reconciliation & management
  • Assisting in management of supply chain
  • Carrying out site visits as and when required
  • Ensuring compliance with standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities
  • Ad hoc commercial duties as job requires

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • HNC/D ,Degree or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subject
  • Preferably qualified or working to an CICES or RICS accreditation
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Demonstrable highway maintenance and civil engineering experience preferably with a contracting organisation
  • Good knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
