7.5t Bulky Waste Driver Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour PAYE Location: North Northamptonshire Council, 3 Lammas Road, Corby, Northamptonshire, NN15 5JF Contract: Ongoing Temporary Assignment Hours: 37 hours per week Team: Street Cleansing Services Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Counc il for a 7.5t Bulky Waste Driver to join their Street Cleansing team on an ongoing temporary basis.This is a varied and active role collecting bulky household waste items booked by residents through the council's website. Collections include furniture, white goods, mattresses and other non-food household items across the North Northamptonshire area.Working as part of a two-person crew, you will help provide an essential service to local residents while maintaining high standards of customer service and safety. This role involves manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Collect bulky household waste from residential properties. Load and unload items such as furniture, white goods, mattresses and other large household items. Work effectively as part of a two-person collection team. Follow safe working practices and manual handling procedures. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents. Ensure vehicles and equipment are kept clean and in good condition. Complete collections efficiently and in line with daily schedules. Working Hours 37 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:00pm (7.5 hours) Friday: 7:00am - 2:30pm (7 hours) Requirements Previous experience in waste collections, street cleansing, logistics, removals, labouring or similar outdoor/manual roles is desirable. Ability to undertake physical work involving lifting and carrying heavy items. Reliable, punctual and safety conscious. Good teamwork and communication skills.
