The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role across the school, supporting teaching and learning from EYFS through to Key Stage 2. This is a varied position that offers the opportunity to lead learning, support pupil progress, and work alongside an experienced and collaborative teaching team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Providing high-quality PPA cover when required
  • Leading small-group and one-to-one intervention programmes
  • Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised HLTA qualification or substantial equivalent experience
  • Recent experience working within a UK primary school setting
  • Confidence delivering lessons independently across primary year groups
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, flexible and reliable approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's academic, social and emotional development
