HLTA Jobs in Ashburton, Devon

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding role supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming specialist education setting in Ashburton, Devon. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism (ASD), ADHD, and associated learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment.

The school is located in a rural area, so access to your own vehicle is highly recommended, as public transport options are limited.

There may also be flexibility around school-friendly working hours, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to fit work around family or childcare commitments.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will:

  • Deliver planned lessons and interventions in the absence of the class teacher where required.
  • Provide 1:1 support and lead small group interventions.
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning.
  • Work closely with pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies (PRICE or TeamTeach experience is desirable).
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Help create a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
What You'll Receive
  • Competitive daily pay of £110-£150, depending on experience.
  • Weekly PAYE payments.
  • Long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development.
  • Dedicated support from specialist education recruitment consultants.
  • A simple registration process with expert compliance and payroll support.
