Milk Education is recruiting passionate, dedicated, and ambitious Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across specialist SEN Schools in Derby on both long-term and short-term assignments.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced support staff looking to take the next step in their career, playing a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs while working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and inclusive learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, both within the classroom and through targeted intervention sessions.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Promote positive behaviour, encourage independence, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to support ongoing development.
- Recent and relevant experience working within an education setting.
- HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A confident, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning.
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
