Job Description
TP Niven is a 3 generation family owned business with depots in Lockerbie, Palnackie, Mauchline, Stranraer, Campbeltown and Somerset.
Due to our continued success and growth we are on the lookout for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team.
Work will involve milk farm collection. Day shift starts between 6 am and 7 am. Most night shifts start at about 6 pm. No overnight stops required. We have a modern, well maintained fleet with our own in-house maintenance team.
You will be required to pass a driving assessment and undertake additional training in milk farm collection (normally 2-3 weeks). You must be health and safety aware, able and willing to follow company procedures and adhere to driving rules and regulations.
You will already hold your CPC and Class 1 license with no more than 6 'live' points and no endorsements for DD/DR offence codes. You must be reliable, and ideally you will have previous experience in haulage or milk farm collection but training will be provided. As a representative of TP Niven in regular contact with our customers you must display a professional attitude at all times. Whilst a majority of the role will be lone working you will be required to engage positively with our customers and office team and have good communication skills.
DAYS & NIGHTS
•4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off, plus 20 guaranteed paid rest shifts per annum•Basic annual salary (up to & including 10 hrs per shift and inclusive of 20 guaranteed paid rest shifts):£32,842•Plus overtime•Extra shift hourly rate: £15.85
•Life insurance (after 3 months of continuous service, and for those below state pension age) which currently includes the following additional benefits:•Savings & Discounts: Get discounts on everyday purchases-supermarkets, tech, travel, gym memberships and more.•24/7 Remote GP: Speak to a doctor at any time, without leaving your home. •Medical Second Opinion: Get expert advice and reassurance on medical diagnoses.•Mental Health Support, including bereavement counselling.•Remote Physiotherapy Consultations (not suitable for complex, pre-existing, or chronic issues).•Wellbeing Services: Personal training, lifestyle coaching, and nutritional consultations.•Financial & Legal Support: Free access to advice on personal financial and legal matters.•All breaks are paid•Overtime is dependent on business requirements and is not guaranteed (but at time of publication some overtime is currently available and we expect this to continue). •Paid monthly•Special overtime rate for 25 December, 26 December and 1 January (regardless of when dates fall ie not transferable): Double time (ie double what would otherwise have been the normal hourly rate). Night shift allowance remains unaffected. •20 days holiday per annum (based on 4 on 4 off). Previous 52 week average overtime payments taken into consideration for first 4 weeks of holiday in each holiday year.•Company uniform•Training as required (with our internal Driver Trainers or other members of the TP Niven team - including buddying up as required).•Driver CPC - The Company will pay for the in-house course and will pay for you to attend one 8 hour day per calendar year. It is your responsibility to ensure that you complete the full course within the required time period.•Sick pay - eligible for £60 per shift from day 4 for set number of shifts depending on length of service.•Pension automatic enrolment with 3% employer contribution
