HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver - 4 Day Week + Overtime

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver to work within the Caenby Corner (LN8) area, supporting local waste collection services. The role is hands on, responsible for safely and efficiently collecting household waste as part of a team keeping the community clean.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 refuse vehicle on mandatory residential routes.
• Assist loaders with household waste collection when required.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Ensure all collections are completed safely and in accordance with regulations.
• Provide a professional and courteous service to the public.

Contract and Compensation

• Contract type: Temporary (Long term, permanent opportunities).
• Hourly rate: £13.47 for the first 37 hours; over 37 hours paid at £20.20 (guaranteed minimum of at least one hour overtime each week).
• Minimum weekly pay: £519.89.
• Annual leave: 28 days pro rata.
• Working hours: Monday Friday, 4 day week; 06:45 start, 9.75 hour shifts averaging 37 hours a week.
• 30 minute breaks.

Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence (new passes accepted).
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Previous experience in refuse driving or a similar role preferred; not essential.
• Good physical fitness due to job nature.
• Strong team player with a positive attitude.
