Healthcare Assistant

Location: 45 Bridle Road, Bridle Road Clinic, Wirral, CH62 6EE

Pay Rate: £13-£15 per hour (depending on experience)

Contract: ASAP start Initial 3 months+

Monday-Thursday, 08:30-16:30

About the Role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support an ongoing clinical research study. The organisation works closely with patients, healthcare professionals, and leading clinical researchers to accelerate access to innovative new medicines and therapies.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a research-focused clinical environment, supporting vaccine administration and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting registered nurses during clinical research activities
  • Supporting Phlebotomy including venepuncture and sample handling
  • Assisting with patient preparation and monitoring
  • Supporting vaccine clinics, including observations and patient flow
  • Accurate documentation and adherence to clinical trial protocols
  • Maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety

Please note: Vaccines will be administered by a nurse. The HCA will support the process, including checks and observations.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience as a Healthcare Assistant within the NHS ideally
  • Phlebotomy competency
  • Experience supporting vaccinations or immunisation clinics
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work accurately within clinical protocols
  • Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete)
