Teacher of Health & Social CareReed Further Education are currently working with a Further Education provider in Derbyshire to recruit a Teacher of Health & Social Care on a full-time temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Social Care professional or qualified teacher to join a successful department delivering programmes to Further Education learners.

• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Start Date: 31st August 2026
• End Date: 1st March 2027
• Teaching Levels: Level 2 and Level 3 Health & Social Care
• Reason for Cover: Maternity cover

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Health & Social Care lessons to Level 2 and Level 3 learners.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements.
• Monitor learner progress and provide appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement and learner development.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and promote learner success.
• The Successful Candidate Will Have
• A degree in Health & Social Care or a related subject.
• Ideally a clinical or healthcare background.
• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Health & Social Care within Further Education, Sixth Form or training settings.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Additional InformationAs part of the onboarding process, successful candidates will be required to complete a short micro-teach presentation. The topic will be a 15-minute lesson on DNA.
