Ready to build something from the ground up? This is an opportunity to take ownership of Health & Safety for a major, long-term transport project and build the team around you.

You'll be the HSE expert on the project, with the opportunity to shape processes, lead the function and make a genuine impact from day one.

What will you be doing?

• Build, lead and manage the Health & Safety team.
• Take ownership of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) across the project.
• Make sure the project meets UK health and safety legislation and contractual requirements.
• Work closely with the client, project teams and subcontractors on HSE matters.
• Manage risk assessments, RAMS, audits, reports and other HSE documentation.
• Lead investigations following incidents and make sure improvements are put in place.
• Identify and deliver HSE training, inductions and toolbox talks.
• Help build a strong, proactive safety culture across the project.
• Act as the main HSE point of contact for the client and wider project team.

What are we looking for?

We're open on seniority, but management and leadership experience is essential. You'll need to be confident building a team, managing people and taking ownership of HSE activities.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience working in Health & Safety, ideally within transport, rail, construction or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience managing or building a team.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum.
• Experience working with clients, contractors and wider stakeholders.
• Good understanding of environmental requirements would be beneficial.
• The ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
