Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor
Function: Distilling
Location: Invergordon Distillery, Invergordon. With requirement to travel to other Whyte and Mackay sites as required.
Job Level: (Internal Reference Only) 4
Contract: Full Time / Permanent - Monday to Thursday, 08:30am - 16:30 pm & Friday, 08:30 - 14:00 (38 hours p/w) - Some evenings and weekend work, on call and travel within the UK will be required.

What the opportunity looks like:The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Company's HSE Policies, strategies and objectives across the 5 Distilleries.
Assisting and supporting Managers and team leaders to develop and review Risk Assessments and SOP's, investigating accidents and incidents as they occur. Supporting the security team to ensure that best practices are implemented, monitored and recorded in accordance with HMRC regulations whilst also ensuring our H&S performance is adhered to and continually improved upon.
- Day to day support of H&S programmes on site, including Zero Harm, delivery of training, accident/incident investigation, conducting risk assessments, as well as developing and maintaining H&S documentation.
- Support the implementation of the H&S goals for the distilleries.
- Ensuring H&S inspections and Audits are completed for weekly call points/ fire alarm checks and on a monthly basis for fire extinguisher checks and emergency lighting checks.
- Assist management and operating teams to ensure compliance with company requirements and government regulations.
- Conduct, review and update H&S Risk Assessments.
- Monitor practices, audit and develop procedures throughout the site within Health & Safety Guidelines.
- Review accident reports and follow-up action plans. Participate in investigation and analysis of incidents, near misses and risk observations and oversee the implementation of corrective action.
- Compile and provide reports including supporting the development of statistics, targets and objectives as required.
- Support & work directly with the security team with roll calls, emergency and security incidents as required.
- Help maintain security vigilance across our sites.
- NEBOSH general Certificate or equivalent is essential, NEBOSH Diploma is desirable.
- Qualified or experienced auditor for 45001 is desirable.
- First Aid trained for FAW or willing to work towards is desirable.
- Tech IOSH essential, Grad IOSH is desirable.
- Train the trainer or experience of delivering training courses internally is desirable.
- Detailed understanding of all H&S Legislation, including COMAH is essential.
- Detailed understanding of accident investigation through a H&S perspective to establish immediate and route causes is essential.
- Understanding of Legionella management experience preferably including cooling towers is desirable.
- Permit to Work experience, including CSE, Hot work, isolations are essential.
