Job Description

Flexsource NI are currently recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor on a temporary fulltime basis, in the Newtownabbey area, with a starting salary of £19.32 per hour

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review and maintain Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring full consultation, approval and accurate record-keeping.
  • Promote organisational awareness of Health & Safety policies and monitor effective local implementation.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits, producing reports and corrective action plans to ensure statutory compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate internal Health & Safety training, ensuring alignment with legislation, best practice and accreditation requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and staff on risk assessments, legislation, and safe systems of work (e.g. COSHH, Manual Handling, DSE, RIDDOR).
  • Lead incident reporting and investigations, including regulatory reporting, documentation management and implementation of preventative actions.
  • Prepare KPI data, reports and committee papers; attend and present at Health & Safety meetings and liaise with trade unions and external bodies.
  • Contribute to business cases, tender processes and organisational initiatives, representing the Health & Safety function as required.
  • Maintain professional development, ensure compliance with organisational policies, and support senior management through deputising and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:
  • 3 years previous experience in a Health & Safety role
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
  • IOSH membership
  • Driving licence and access to own transport to facilitate site visits
