Job Description

Job Title: Admin & Health & Safety Executive (Temp to Perm)
Location: Redditch
Pay Rate: £14.36 - £16.41 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: Immediate

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an organised and proactive Admin & Health & Safety Executive to join a busy and well established business in Redditch. This is a varied, hands on position combining general administrative duties with responsibility for supporting and leading key health & safety functions across the site.

This opportunity is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, providing the chance to secure a long term role within a supportive and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties:

  • Managing incoming and outgoing post, including franking
  • Ordering office supplies including stationery, tea/coffee, milk, and kitchen essentials
  • Coordinating uniform orders for employees
  • Placing orders for workshop and warehouse requirements
  • Answering and directing incoming calls via reception
  • Managing meeting room bookings and preparing rooms for visitors
  • Welcoming visitors and interviewees, including arranging refreshments
  • Organising catering/lunches for meetings
  • Booking taxis and accommodation for visitors and employees
  • Liaising with visitors and ensuring a professional front of house experience
  • Maintaining office plants and general office upkeep
  • Supporting internal events (e.g. Christmas raffle, staff activities)

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Acting as Health & Safety Lead / Appointed Person on site
  • Ensuring all maintenance schedules are adhered to and records are up to date
  • Managing Legionella checks including routine temperature monitoring
  • Conducting monthly emergency lighting checks
  • Reviewing and updating risk assessments as required
  • Organising and leading Health & Safety meetings, including taking minutes
  • Ordering and managing PPE supplies
  • Maintaining accident and incident records
  • Ensuring compliance with current health & safety legislation
  • Delivering Health & Safety inductions for new and temporary staff
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous experience within an administrative role (essential)
  • Experience or strong understanding of Health & Safety practices (essential)
  • IOSH qualification desirable (training can be provided)
  • First Aid / Fire Warden training desirable (training available)
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Confident communicator with a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Good attention to detail and record keeping skills
