We seek a forward-thinking Compliance Director to lead our UK Card Compliance strategy. The role involves leading the UK Compliance function, including advisory and assurance teams, and working closely with other risk and compliance teams, as well as external regulators. The role may also oversee the UK Card's Financial Crime Compliance team.
The ideal candidate will be a strong compliance risk professional with leadership experience in financial services, capable of developing high-performing teams and driving transformational change. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior executives and regulators are essential.
What you'll do
- Lead the UK Card Compliance function, including oversight of the Financial Crime Compliance team.
- Develop a team of compliance professionals to deliver risk-based advice and assurance.
- Enhance the compliance risk management framework to support company strategy.
- Promote a culture of proportionate and effective compliance risk management.
- Advise the UK Card Leadership Team and Board on complex compliance issues.
- Participate in risk forums and stay updated on legal and regulatory developments.
- Provide compliance training and promote a customer-focused culture.
- Build relationships with enterprise compliance teams and external regulators.
- Represent Capital One UK in external compliance discussions.

Where and how you'll work
This is a permanent role based in Nottingham or London, with a hybrid working model. Expect to work in the office three days a week and travel between London and Nottingham if based in London.
