- The role can be based at any of our three hospices with hybrid working.
- Required to travel between sites to collaborate with colleagues, so a current full, valid driving license and car is essential.
- Salary:£43,000 - £50,000 FTE per annum, experience dependent (pro rata for part time).
- Full Time & Part Time applicants considered - minimum 30 hours/4 days per week
- Monday to Friday but with flexibility for weekend and evening events as required

We are looking for a Head of Supporter Engagement to lead and grow our public fundraising activity and deepen meaningful relationships with our supporters.
Main duties of the jobThis is a senior leadership role within our Fundraising team, responsible for shaping and delivering our Public Fundraising strategy.
Leading a team of fundraisers, developing clear plans and approaches to grow income, strengthen supporter engagement, and ensure a high standard of donor care.
The role has overall responsibility for generating circa £2.3 million annually and for building strong, collaborative relationships across Finance, Marketing & Communications, and operational teams to deliver shared goals.
- Leading and delivering a forward-thinking supporter engagement strategy aligned to our wider fundraising plans
- Managing and developing a team, supporting performance, learning and continuous improvement
- Overseeing budgets, income performance and financial planning
- Strengthening supporter journeys to build long term engagement and loyalty
- Working collaboratively across teams to maximise fundraising opportunities
- Ensuring all activity meets legal and regulatory requirements, including the Code of Fundraising Practice
- Staying informed about sector trends and identifying new opportunities for growth

Job responsibilities- Deliver the Public Fundraising Fundraising strategy, aligned with the overall Fundraisingstrategy to achieve annual budget.
- Lead and manage the Fundraising team to ensure the successful day to day management anddevelopment of the team and successful delivery of the new five-year Fundraising strategy(including performance management, line management and staff development).
- Ensure effective operational plans are developed for each Fundraising area to deliver the aimsand objectives of the overall strategy.
- Manage income and expenditure budgets to ensure the effective allocation and tracking offundraising revenue.
- Lead and maintain a culture of high standards of donor care and stewardship to encouragelong-term engagement and life-time value.
- Work effectively with the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships and Head of FundraisingOperations to ensure collaborative communication and success across Fundraising.
- Ensure all fundraising adheres to legal requirements and the Code of Fundraising Practice setby the Fundraising Regulator.
- Demonstrate leadership, management and personal behaviours that are in line with EACHvalues.
- Work closely with the EACH operational management teams, attending appropriatemeetings, ensuring good channels of communication between Operational Managers andFundraising are maintained.
- Keep up-to-date on best practice within the charity sector with a focus on supporterengagement and fundraising, highlighting trends and insight that could inform planning andsupport the team with the development of new ideas and practices.
- Demonstrable experience leading, motivating, and managing multi-disciplinary teams and engaging senior internal stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing long-term, data driven fundraising strategies and operational plans to achieve ambitious income targets.
- Experience managing large income and expenditure budgets, including forecasting, monitoring performance against KPIs, and ensuring financial targets are met.
- Experience in developing and delivering effective supporter journeys and income growth across departments.
- Working knowledge of the fundraising software, Raisers Edge.
- Demonstrates effective written and numerical skills
- Demonstrates clear and effective communication with a range of internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Works collaboratively and able to work effectively across departments and with external partners to achieve shared goals.
- Applies strategic thinking and uses data and insight to inform decisions and identify opportunities.
- Applies problem-solving skills to support effective decision-making
- Able to work independently, use initiative, and remain effective when managing competing priorities or working under pressure
- Leads teams to deliver and adapt to change in line with organisational priorities.
- Expertise in building effective and transparent relationships with colleagues and supporters.
- Expertise in fundraising, focused in Events, Community, Lottery, Legacy & In Memory and Individual Giving.
- A deep understanding of relevant fundraising markets, trends, regulations (e.g., GDPR,
- Fundraising Code of Practice), and best practices.
- Member of the Institute of Fundraising.
- Current full, valid driving license and own car essential.
- Able to travel and to attend events out of the area and out of office hours, including Bank Holidays, evenings and weekends, and to have an overnight stay when required.
