Position Overview: The Head of Subject Food Technology will lead the food technology department within Waverley Education Foundation Trust, overseeing curriculum, teaching quality, student progress, and resource management across KS3, KS4, and KS5.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver a high-quality food technology curriculum across all stages.
• Provide outstanding lessons and ensure excellence and achievement for all learners.
• Use a variety of teaching approaches to continually enhance learning across the full age and ability range.
• Forge strong working relationships within the Science team and across the Trust.
• Provide leadership and support to teaching staff, fostering professional development.
• Monitor and analyse student progress, setting and reviewing targets.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, nutrition, and food hygiene.

Qualifications & Experience

• Excellent track record of teaching and student progress within a successful secondary school.
• Experience leading a subject or team, preferably within a multi-academy trust.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support staff development and mentoring.
• Committed to raising standards and meeting the school's core values of Humanity, Equality, Aspiration, and Respect.

Requirements

• Meeting the person specification for the role.
• Subject knowledge in Food Technology and related sciences.
• Full DBS check (enhanced) required.
