Head of Security Operations

About the role

Canonical is a global open source software company. This role leads the Security Operations team, owning the design, implementation and evolution of security practices, tools and policies to protect Canonical infrastructure, data and build processes.

What you'll do

• Hire, mentor and lead a high performing technical security team
• Define SecOps standards and playbooks for Canonical
• Own the architecture and design of the security operations center
• Evaluate, select and implement security tools and practices
• Identify and guide remediation of security threats and incidents
• Develop SecOps learning materials and represent Canonical in public forums

• Proven track record mitigating advanced threats and nation state activity
• Expert understanding of SOCs, architecture and incident response
• Strong Linux security expertise and hands on experience with security tooling
• Experience with threat intelligence, risk management frameworks and KPI measurement
• Excellent business English writing and presentation skills
