This is not a Wiltshire Council vacancy therefore please contact Whitesheet CE Primary Academy for further information.

Set in the heart of the stunning Wiltshire countryside, Whitesheet Church of England Primary Academy is a small school with a big heart. We are proud of our ethos: "Climbing to new heights together". Our vision is simple yet powerful - every child is unique, valued, and inspired to achieve their very best.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of School to join our dedicated team and help lead our school into its next exciting chapter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader who shares our commitment to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and resilience in every child.

The school operates under an Executive Headteacher model, and there will be regular periods when the Executive Headteacher is working across the wider organisation. During these times, the Head of School will take a leading role in the day-to-day running of the school, ensuring high standards, continuity of provision and strong leadership in their absence. We are seeking a confident, capable leader who can uphold our vision and maintain effective oversight when acting as the senior leader on site.

What Makes Whitesheet Special?
  • A warm, family atmosphere where every child is known and celebrated.
  • Access to Forest School, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and a secret garden for hands on learning.
  • Strong community links and supportive parents.
  • A curriculum designed to inspire lifelong learning and personal growth.
As Head of School, you will:
  • Work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement and maintain high standards.
  • Lead on teaching and learning, ensuring an engaging and inclusive curriculum.
  • Support staff development and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Champion safeguarding and wellbeing for all pupils.
  • Be a visible, approachable leader who inspires confidence in pupils, staff, and families.
  • You will be required to teach a class for part of the week.
What We're Looking For
  • A proven leader with vision, integrity, and enthusiasm.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner who motivates and inspires.
  • A strategic thinker who can turn ideas into action.
  • Someone who values teamwork and builds strong relationships across the school community.
We Offer
  • A supportive and committed team.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • A beautiful rural setting with exceptional outdoor learning facilities.
  • A chance to make a real difference in a thriving, close knit school.

We want our staff to thrive so we offer an extensive range of wellness services and professional learning opportunities to support growth and development. Please visit our website for further details: Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust - Wellness
