Job Description

As the UK's national fire safety organisation, we work to identify the dangers of fire and help our clients reduce any fire-related risks. With the support of our fantastic team of people, our not-for-profit organisation continues to go from strength to strength, so there is no better time for you to begin a promising career with the Fire Protection Association.

Our people are the heart of our business and are core to our success as a company. We foster a highly collaborative and dynamic culture where everyone has a voice, aligned with our vision - to make the built environment a safer place to live and work. Our team are continuously making a difference in the industry, achieving a sense of fulfilment in the work they do. We offer employees a sense of purpose and a real contribution effect from the work that we do together.

RISCAuthority is an annually funded research scheme administered by the FPA and supported by a significant group of UK insurers. It publishes extensive guidance and recommendations for risk management, predominantly in the areas of fire and security, and its core purpose is to raise resilience standards within the business community. RISCAuthority is managed by its members through the Executive Committee and Membership Forum. The Executive Committee is responsible for the high-level strategy, objectives and budget, whilst the Membership Forum approves the individual programmes of work. To focus on the different risks, RISCAuthority uses a working group structure formed with experts from the membership community and augmented by the FPA and externally commissioned consultants.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our RISCAuthority Team as Head of RISCAuthority. You will work closely with our insurer members, the Executive Committee, and industry experts to shape strategic direction, oversee the delivery of high-quality research programmes, and ensure that our guidance continues to set the benchmark for fire and security risk management. This is a pivotal role for someone who can unite technical insight with stakeholder engagement, driving forward our mission to raise resilience standards across the business community.
